However, data can also be the cause of faults. Poor data quality or insufficient data integrity is the trigger for project difficulties and can cause additional effort. In the worst case, data inconsistencies can rock even large corporations in their very foundations.

Check & monitor

CHALLENGE System landscapes in medium-sized and large organizations are becoming increasingly heterogeneous, the amount of data is skyrocketing and the complexity of the business processes is increasing.
At the same time, customers as well as internal roles(controlling, senior and risk management, release management etc.) want to be informed promptly, transparently and comprehensively about various data-related topics. The following are some of the questions that should be answered at any time:: 

• Have rule violations occurred?
• Are there any side effects after applying hot fixes?
• Is the quantity structure within the expected range - or are there any outliers that need to be further analyzed?
• Could the regulatory requirements be implemented seamlessly and correctly?

SOLUTION Performing a data integrity monitoring with OMrun is implementing a network of measurement points and measurement sections in order to monitor all relevant data flows in your organization. We call it the "OMrun Data Integrity Spider Web".

Migrate & transform

CHALLENGE Modernize applications that have grown over years or even decades with underlying databases - a long-running favorite on the to-do list of large organizations.
The legacy of databases and applications represents great value and is the key to economic supremacy. But the ravages of time are gnawing, and like a building, aging IT systems need renovation, core removal or even a replacement.
The desire for a migration is latent, but many organizations delay the implementation of such a project. Some reasons for this behavior are:

• in addition to the demanding daily business, there is no time for careful analysis and planning
• specialists to implement such a challenging system changeover are scarce
• the risk of project failure is considered too high

However, only in very few cases delaying a migration is the right decision. Because the challenges for a system changeover will not diminish over time. It is all the better that OMIS has developed tools and processes and has already implemented them several times so that migrations and transformations can become projects with a "silent go-live".

SOLUTION To execute data migrations, OMIS has developed a revolutionary procedure: The fully automated 1:1 in‑memory migration combined with a configurative data transformation - without having to program the migration. The advantages of this method are a shorter project duration, lower costs, easier communication with the business units and transparency at all times regarding project progress and data quality.

Automate

CHALLENGE Repetitive yet demanding data entry or data processing routine work is one of the biggest "time wasters" in large organizations. Such work ties up the capacities of valuable employees who, due to the high workload, no longer manage to perform value-enhancing, customer-oriented tasks. Negative consequences of these conditions include:

• frustrated employees
• lack of innovation and slow time-to-market
• insufficient data quality
• excessive costs in the "back office"
• lacking customer orientation

SOLUTION The buzzword RPA (Robotic Process Automation) is on everyone's lips and there are already many very good solutions on the market. To meet the increasing demand for RPA implementations, OMIS has put together a very lean and quickly integrated automation package. As a bonus for pure process automation, the integration of OMrun also creates end-to-end quality assurance.
"Automated, but secure" is the motto!
This approach is particularly valuable if a legacy system is to be connected to a more modern system or to a purchased standard product without making adjustments to the old system. It can also happen that the development of the required interfaces by the manufacturer of the standard software is implemented very slowly - which can cause market disadvantages. To speed up the time-to-market, RPA is implemented as a temporary workaround until the official interface is ready.
